I'm an Emmy-nominated comedy director and writer with an eye for performance and visual inventiveness.
I cut my teeth in the digital department at Comedy Central while writing and directing my own projects on the side. The digital series Squaresville broke out (Entertainment Weekly, USA Today, Variety), so I waved goodbye to the cubicle and hello to directing full time. After an Emmy nomination for my work on Key & Peele, I became a regular at College Humor (now Dropout) and Lorne Michaels' Above Average, where I helped forge their celebrity-driven commercial campaigns. The projects kept getting bigger, and I fell in love with commercials.
For the last 10 years I've balanced show-running and directing for networks like Facebook, Verizon, and Viacom, plus national campaigns for Fortune 500 brands. I’ve directed tons of celebrities, like Barack Obama, Steph Curry, Ellen (DeGeneres), James Corden, Will Arnett, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Allison Williams, Lamorne Morris, Retta, Jonathan Bennett just to name drop a few.
I've logged hundreds of hours of finished work and a lot of opinions about lens choice and how dry is too dry when it comes to a joke (it's never dry enough).
I’m based in LA, and also host the directing podcast Just Shoot It, which means if you hire me you're getting someone who loves this stuff enough to talk shop between takes, and teach commercial acting at the Lee Strasberg Institute, if you would like to pay me to give you notes for 12 weeks.
